The Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA) is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Charles River and its watershed. Since 1965, CRWA has worked to improve the health of the river through science, advocacy, education, and community engagement. Serving the 308-square-mile watershed, CRWA partners with residents, municipalities, businesses, and government agencies to address water quality, stormwater pollution, climate resilience, habitat restoration, and equitable access to the river. Through research, innovative projects, and policy leadership, CRWA develops practical solutions that help create a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Charles River for everyone. Donations to CRWA support water quality monitoring, river restoration, environmental education, community outreach, climate adaptation initiatives, and advocacy efforts that protect the river and the communities that depend on it. Every contribution helps ensure that future generations can enjoy a healthy Charles River as a source of recreation, wildlife habitat, and clean water.
